"Dedicated to providing dental excellence in a caring, comfortable and relaxed environment"
Gentle Family Dentist in Malvern East
Our Dental Practice
Welcome to our family-oriented practice where our goal is to make dentistry as comfortable and relaxed as possible. We are here to help and cater to all your dental needs as well as establishing a lifelong relationship.
Dental care centred around you
Your dental care should begin with listening and a clear understanding of what matters to you.
At The Tooth Doctor, we take time to examine your dental health, explain our findings and discuss appropriate treatment options. Where treatment is recommended, we explain the expected benefits, material risks, limitations, alternatives and likely fees before proceeding.
Our focus is helping patients maintain healthy teeth and gums through prevention, early diagnosis and treatment suited to their individual circumstances.

A preventive approach
We aim to identify dental problems early and help patients reduce their future risk of tooth decay, gum disease and avoidable tooth damage.
Preventive care may include regular examinations, professional cleaning, fluoride treatment, fissure sealants, dietary guidance and personalised home-care advice.
Clear treatment discussions
There is rarely one treatment that suits every person. We explain reasonable options and alternatives so you can make an informed decision about your dental care.
Care for the whole family
We provide age-appropriate care for children, teenagers, adults and older patients. Appointments are adapted to each person’s dental needs, medical history and level of confidence.
Support for anxious patients
If you feel nervous about dental treatment, let us know when arranging your appointment. We can explain each stage, proceed at an appropriate pace and discuss ways to make your visit more manageable.

Frequently asked questions
Are you accepting new patients?
New patients are welcome to contact the practice. Call (03) 9569 3221 so our reception team can arrange an appropriate appointment.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency?
Call us as soon as possible if you have significant toothache, swelling, dental trauma, a broken tooth or another urgent dental problem. We will assess the urgency and advise you about the earliest appropriate appointment.
Difficulty breathing, rapidly spreading facial swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or another medical emergency requires urgent medical assistance.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We provide age-appropriate dental care for children and teenagers. Tell us when booking if your child is anxious or has had a difficult previous dental experience.
Do you accept private health insurance?
We accept patients with private health insurance and have HICAPS available for eligible on-the-spot claims. Your benefit depends on your insurer, policy and annual limits.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
There is no single interval suitable for everyone. Your dentist will recommend a recall interval based on your oral health, disease risk, previous treatment and home care.
Do I need a referral?
A referral is not normally required to arrange an appointment with a general dentist. Referral may be recommended later if specialist assessment is appropriate.
What if I feel anxious about visiting the dentist?
Tell us when arranging your appointment. Understanding your concerns allows us to explain the visit, allow appropriate time and adapt our approach where possible.
