Jim's career in dentistry started in the year 2000. His clinical experience has included working at he Royal Melbourne Children's Hospital, the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne as well as private practice.  Jim has also been involved in tertiary education as a lecturer and clinical demonstrator at the University of Melbourne Dental school.  Professionally Jim has had appointments with the Victorian Dental Board Advisory committee as well as the RMIT steering committee. 

With the establishment of The Tooth Doctor, Jim's focus is for patients to keep their teeth for life and prevent future dental problems arising through education and awarenesss. He enjoys treating patients of all ages and aims to provide gentle dental care in a comfortable and relaxed environment. JIm's interest in continuing education ensures that you will receive the most current information and treatment options available.

Outside of work hours, Jim enjoys spending time with his family which includes his two young boys.

Vicky 

Practice Co-ordinator

Vicky has a background in chiropractic, running her own successful business over a 10 year period.  Vicky greatly enjoyed getting to know her patients and their families as well as the the technical aspect of running a health clinic.  This new challenge, as a practice co-ordinator, seemed like a natural progression after becoming a mum and combines her enjoyment of running a business and developing relationships.

 

Dr. Marianne Karas

Marianne graduated from the University of Melbourne's Dental School in 1999. Prior to her entry to Dentistry, she completed two years of an undergraduate Science degree at the University of Melbourne, with distinctions.

Marianne's clinical experience has included General and Emergency care at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and general private practice.

Over the years, Marianne has also engaged in dental education seminars of school children at Tintern Grammar school, Canterbury Primary school, Camberwell Grammar School and Ruyton Girls' school.


She is continually abreast of professional development and works with the aim of educating patients for the preservation of their teeth and maintenance of optimum oral health. Marianne enjoys establishing a rapport with all her patients.

She aims to provide a comfortable environment based on good communication that is conducive to patients making informed dental treatment decisions.

As well as working as a dentist, Marianne is married and a busy mother to two older children, Alexander and Zoe.

She is an amateur canvas painter, enjoys cooking and loves to go on long walks.
